Investigators Say There Are People Of Interest in Disappearance of Brittanee Drexel
South Carolina authorities say they now have a break in the case of a missing 17-year-old Rochester, N.Y. girl who disappeared while vacationing in Myrtle Beach last April. According to Fox News, people of interest have been named in the search for Brittanee Drexel, who was last seen leaving the Blue Water Resort Hotel on April 25th of 2009. The teen had been visiting some male friends there and was on her way back to the nearby Bar Harbour Hotel, which is where she had been staying with her girlfriends. This is the last known sighting of Brittanee Drexel.
Now local Florida television station WPDE-TV is reporting that South Carolina authorities say the people of interest know what happened to the girl. Georgetown County investigator Chris Bailey told the TV station that he got a tip in December which provided the break in the case.
In an unfortunate revelation, NBC affiliate WHEC-TV out of Rochester is reporting that police are now investigating Brittanee Drexel's disappearance as a homicide.
Hopefully whoever is responsible out of the "persons of interest" will be brought to justice... that's the only good that can come from this!!
