Arrest Made in Case of Missing Alabama Mother

CBS affiliate WIAT is reporting that an arrest has been made in the case of missing Alabama mother Nadia Kersh, who disappeared more than two years ago. On Tuesday police announced that a man by the name of Joacquas Haywood had been taken into custody and charged with her murder. According to CBS/WIAT, Haywood had been an acquaintance of Kersh. Statements made by Jefferson County DA Brandon Falls have revealed that authorities believe the murder took place during a robbery.

The 23-year-old was last seen on Nov. 3, 2008 when leaving her job at Tria Market in Homewood, Alabama. It was first noticed that she was missing when she failed to pick up her young son from day care. Birmingham police later recovered Nadia's car, but her body has never been found.

The County DA also said that he will seek the death penalty because this is a capital murder case.
